Emanuel Headjoints
I am a flute teacher/free lance player in Atlanta. I am currently looking for a new headjoint and have heard some really great things about Emanuel headjoints. Does anyone have one and or played on one? I currently play on a Sanko flute and really love it. I just want something new to play and to experiment with different tones that a new headjoint can provide. Any info you have is great! I have searched around on the web and found limited info. I know that one of my friends got one and loves in and that one of the ASO players recommended it to her. Thanks!!!

I actually tried an Emanual Headjoint and flute at the Florida Flute Fair a week ago.(Emanual Arista came himself!) They're nice headjoints, I found them to play similarly to the Arista headjoints. But, in the end I preferred Arista headjoints to the Emanual.
I highly suggest trying one yourself though, you'll most likely have a different reaction to it than I did. You might love them

I actually ended up buying one months ago...and I do love it. I got an Emanuel with a gold riser. I thought I really liked my Sankyo (I think is was an RS-1 or something like that) and thought I would probably switch them off...the Sankyo for a big and powerful sound and the Emanuel for a sweeter controlled sound. But after two months on the Emanuel, I have NO desire to go back. I actually tried and found my old head horrible. I could not believe it. Emanuel told me that the more I worked on the headjoint, the more I would get comfortable with it.
And just a plug for him...he was super to work with. We talked regularly about how I should be trying them out and different places I should go to test it...even recommending me to take several lessons with different people. He was very easy going about how long I kept the heads...It was right after the NFA convention, so the new ones he made for me were not being demanded yet...he sold out at the NFA convention.
From what I have heard, the Artista heads are very similar. Thanks for your input, a little late, but still nice! This way we can help people hear the names of two lesser know headjoint makers who are great!
