Consignments

Post by sidekicker »

I hope this is the appropriate place for this. Has anybody had any good/bad experiences with consignment sales? I'm considering selling a head and doing it by consignment. I'm interested in any experiences any of you might have had with particular dealers, etc. (i.e., who is great, who I may want to avoid, whether it's even worth it to go that route, etc.).

For obvious reasons, this is probably best left to PMs. So, if you have any info on this I'd love to hear your experience(s) and all the potential pitfalls; please PM me and let me know about them. I'm particularly interested in reputable/trustworthy, etc., people around that do this. U.S. only please :-)

Thanks in advance!

I have no problems with telling this publically. I had a flute consigned at Flute World and have no complaints whatsoever. The transaction was smooth and I was kept up ot date on the progress.

The only pitfall I can see is that it sometimes takes a while to sell instruments, so be patient.
