Hi, I need some advices on my programme notes for my Flute DipABRSM. I'm going to play Boccherini's Concerto for Flute in D Major as one of the pieces and here's a problem I encountered when I tried to write the programme notes.
As you may know that the Concerto was discovered to be written by the Bohemian composer Franz Xavier Pokorny after its publication in 1953 (which i guess it's actually difficult to prove right?), I wonder whether I should write about Boccherini's life, work and style or that of Pokorny. Because IF the Concerto was really composed by Pokorny, then I should really write about Pokorny instead. But there's little information that I could find for Pokorny, not much articles on the web and books in the library and rarely could I find his other works to listen. So what I've done now is wrote a paragraph on Boccherini's life and work and then talk about the concerto being mistaken for Boccherini's and should have been Pokorny's and describe the concerto itself.
What do you think?
Welcome for any comments and advices!
Oscar
