Marching Band Piccolo HELP?

Im buying a piccolo for marching band and I was wondering what brands would be best. I have seen Conn-Selmer and Selmer-Bundy brands?? Also, I am wondering if a plastic body or a metal body piccolo would be best for marching. I have heard that a plastic body piccolo is easier to keep in tune in cold conditions. Is that true??
