Hello everyone, I'm preparing for a placement audition for college band in the fall. I'm not really freaked out at all since I don't expect to make the top band my first year and I have already been accepted into the harder program by audition.
I need two 90 second (or so) excerpts: technical and lyrical. I have my technical one, but I'm not so sure on the lyrical. I was thinking a slower movement from Hindemith's Acht Stucke. I had been looking at the 7th movement, unfortunately, I have never actually HEARD it. I can buy a recording, but I would like to really start working on it now. Can anyone give me some tempo suggestions on it? I work with my metronome a LOT, so metronome tempos would be very helpful.. My flute teacher is miles and miles away for the summer so I can't get any help there..
Or, is there another movement that I should consider? I thought that one looked good and from what I played I thought it would work, but what do I know? I'm always open to suggestions. Thanks!
