Hello,
This is my first post. I'm an amateur flutist with 3 years experience. I would like to learn the piccolo also. The Sonare piccolo was recommended to me but is no longer available. I've notice that a new Chinese company, Di Zhao is selling flutes and piccolos. Does anyone know anything about them? How good is the quality? The price is very reasonable.
I'm looking for an intermediate level piccolo. Any recommendations? Also, what is the difference in playing between the "wave" and the regular headjoint?
Thanks,
Di Zhao piccolo

Must be careful here.
You may find excelent instruments (for the price) IF you try playing them carefully. They are rebuilt and completely revised by Mr Zhao in person in the States. His factory is in China, and I've heard both good things and bad things about his flutes (heard nothing about piccolos though).
So, you must be very careful in choosing a Di Zhao instrument.
Experiment many, and take the time to do it.
