Other than the master Hubert Laws, is anyone aware of a source for improvisational sheet music ?, that's available to buy or download
I am looking for sheet music to use as a template (base)
It's easy to find the music, but there aren't very many flutists willing to share their magic, I know it can be adapted from other instruments, but it's easier for me if I have a template to work from
As an example Amazing Grace in A is simple, but Hubert Laws version is much more expressive , and complicated , a simple E-A-C#-C#-D-A goes to E-F#-A-A-c/C#-B-A-c/C#-a/B-C#-B-A

Jamey Aebersold has play along CDs which are great to start with. Look at Volume 2, "Nothin' But Blues", it's a good place to begin. Volume 54, "Maiden Voyage" will introduce you to some nice jazz tunes with basic chord progressions all young jazz players should become familiar with. I taught High School and College Jazz improvisation courses for 35 years and many of my best students started out playing along with these recordings. Go Jamey Aebersold's website and you will find more material than you will use in your lifetime.
