I practice at least 1 hour because I have band in school.
After school I practice about 30 mins-1 hour. I have a question for you, some of
my keys on my brand new flute are sticking, what do u do to make them not?

I have band at school everyday and that's for about 45
minutes. Technically I don't count school band as practicing. . . I try to get
at least 30 minutes of practicing a night (we are required to practice 140 min a
week) Unfortuanately I don't always get my practice in due to my school
workload which seems to be piling higher than usual. [:p] I don't work with
books really except Winning Rhythms (book full of rhytms) at school I usually
just play sheet music and scales and rhythms. I used to play out of the Accent
on Achievement books but have now supassed their most difficult book.

at the start of each practice, how long does it take before
you could get to the right embouchure? it still takes me a couple of minutes.
i'm just thinking, if i'm gonna play/accompany a tune, it's already half-way
through, while i'm still finding my embouchure vic

I practice anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 or 4 hours a day.
It just depends on how busy I am and how I'm feeling. During this time I
usually work out of my lesson book (I use Rubank because my teacher does [;)]
I'm currently just starting Advanced Vol. 2) first, to work on my scales and
warm myself up. Then I do some etudes out of it, then generally work on my
double and triple tounging. Then I work out of my solo books and practice my
flute choir and youth band music.

or lipstick, I have to take it off because it affects my embouchure and
playing!

Yes, it can take several minutes.. or longer.. to get the
right embouchure. That's why it's a good idea to do warm-ups such as long
tones every day.
