Yesterday, Robert Dick announced that a new version of his Glissando Headjoint is now available. He has been experimenting with this for several years and through collaboration with Bickford Brannen, previously sold a version of the headjoint ($2000 I believe) through Brannen Flutes. Now, he's working with Eastman Winds to offer a lower cost ($995) version of the Glissando Headjoint.
If you haven't seen or heard Robert Dick playing the Glissando Headjoint, you owe it to yourself to click on the video links in his announcement below. I promise you'll be amazed!
Greetings All,
With best wishes for Spring, I'm happy to announce that the Glissando Headjoint® is available for purchase. They are being made under my name by Eastman Winds, the parent company of Haynes flutes. If you haven't heard or seen the Glissando Headjoint®, please have a look at
The headjoints now offered are silver, with a very responsive embouchure hole cut, as I prefer. Price is $995 US plus shipping. Registered students anywhere in the world receive a $100 discount. The headjoints are sized for a .016 receiver, and can easily be fitted to virtually any flute. A handsome and practical case is provided.
Yeah, I exchanged a few messages on the flutenet message board with Robert Dick about that head joint. Cool concept, but it costs as much and a decent flute.
I would still love to have one. To bad they dont make one for piccolo!
