Helloooooo everyone!!! I''ve been listening a lot
to Bach lately. I love "Badinerie from Suite no 2 in B minor". I got the music
for it I just don''t believe that I have the skill level to play it. Are there
any exercises anyone suggests that could help me get the quickness required for
it??? Any one there that plays it? or anyone wanting to (like me) play it? I
would love to hear suggetions. Thanks ya''ll!!!!!! Beqa

Oh, this is one of my favorite pieces. I can't
think of a specific exercise to practice for it - maybe practice playing B minor
things. Do scales, arpeggios, until you're comfortable with that scale. Then
just play the piece slowly until you're comfortable with it. Separate it into
sections and when you feel you've learned one, move on to the next. I find that
this is one of those pieces that just "flows" easily for flute. You'll see -
you'll love it. Sneeble, snarble, splorkity, sploo! [:)] [:)] [:)] [:)] [:)]

Take it very slow; use a metronome and just
practice. I played this piece for an audition, you don't have to play it like
rampal or galway, playing it at 100-110 is fine. And don't listen to other
people play it fast, because it will only make you more anxious and make you
play it faster. But for right now, take it as slow as possible, I mean s-l-o-w
and one line at a time, maybe even one phrase at a time. But make sure you hit
every note and every articulation and your tone is nice and staccato not airy
and rushed. Leanne

Thanks! Leanne! I've been doing that. And yes! When
I listen to it on a cd. I couldn't avoid trying to play it fast! It was a mess.
So I just don´t listen to it no more. I think the best thing so far is to take
it slow and eventually more and more speed. I love this song. I hope I can work
it all out!! Thanks!!!
