Is my flute brokem?

Post by KMoracle »

Its really weird that i cannot seem to make a sound from playing a key other than the note c,b,and a. Any notes that i would play such as a high D or low D would make a sound as if my flute is clogged or broken? I have check the inside of my instrument if anything could be clogging it, if the pads seem to be worn off, or the physical keys could be jammed or the metal strings and screws are loose and broken; but everything are in tact and working. I even heated and warmth the flute if the temperature was affecting it..

What do you think that is causing certain notes sounding clogged? What can i do to fix it? I would appreciate if someone could answer my question because I am a flautist in distress!

Take it to a professional technician. Only a repairman has the tools to investigate the reason and fix your flute properly.

A flute is the hardest instrument to get right, quite a lot of woodwind repair technicians cannot get it right either, for this reason I recommend you not do it yourself.

Find the local recommended repairer from other flutists or ask local schools who they use.
