Hi, New here!

Post by Narcissa »

My name is Mandy and I'm 34.
I've loved music, listening to it and making it all my life, I've mainly played clarinet, sax, violin, recorder, oboe and drums over the years and dabbled a little on borrowed flutes when I worked in a local music shop about 15 years ago.
Recently music has taken a back seat to other things and I've parted with many of my instruments as they deserved to be played and not just sitting in their cases.
I have decided though to concentrate on the flute and will be getting a secondhand, overhauled Trevor James student flute in a couple of days.
I don't want to spend too much initially so this will be ideal to get me started again and I can then upgrade next year if I am playing regularly.
In the past I've taught both clarinet and recorder but not for a year or so as my two regular pupils have moved away to uni and my time has been taken up with other interests such as dance ( ballet and tap).
I live with Simon, my partner of 11 years and we have a 9 year old son, Ollie.
I love movies and books, especially Harry Potter and the works of Tolkien.
I live in Derby, England.

Hi Narcissa,

Welcome aboard! :-)

Have you considered the possibility of getting flute lessons?
This may help you not to acquire bad playing habits that must be dificult to manage in the future.
It can be an investiment now so you play better and move forward on playing again.

cheers,

Zevang
