Yeah....this one just might be a bit over the top. (but you gotta admit, it is pretty stunning!)

It is beautiful, but I wonder if that would hurt?

Nah....the stones are less than 1/4 of a mm proud (above) the surface. The settings are called bezels. They are not prongs.
You can feel them, but there's no sharpness to the texture.
Many flutists have engraved embouchures--this is probably the first time anyone has set gemstones on one. (At least, I've never seen a lip plate with gemstones)

Really beautiful Brian! :-)

What about the cost (engraving + gems)?
And how long does it take for you to do it?

thanks

Beautiful ... do you fancy a trip to New Zealand, as I'd love to try it out?

I'd love to go back to NZ! I have a good friend that lives in Christchurch & some of my immediate family is in Melbourne Aus.
Make you a deal----next time through, I'll make sure I bring it with me.

@evrmre...My good friend in Christchurch is Andrew Biggs. He is a custom hand engraving artist also.

No worries about being off topic. Glad to hear from you regardless. Next time I have a chance to visit with the good folks in NZ, I'll make sure I announce it AND bring along some flute embellishments.
