I am trying to locate Powell Serial No. 9777.
I purchased this flute directly from the manufacturer in the mid 90s. I lost possession of it approximately six years ago (I believe it was late '00/early '01), when my family sold it to a retailer in the Carnegie Hall-area. I have been contacting the major flute retailers in the Carnegie Hall area, and so far none of them have had any record of purchasing this flute.
I'm wondering if anyone on the list has ever come across Powell Serial No. 9777? I'm hoping that the serial number would stand out in one's memory, because it is so distinct. If not, does anyone know other sources that I could reach out to that may be able to help me locate this flute? My goal is to locate the current owner, and make a purchase offer if they are agreeable to selling.
Thank you _very_ much for your help,
Meredith

you could try contacting powell. Quite a few manufacturers register their instruments, and their current owners. I would try that. I would also go onto powell's webpage, and look up the flute's serial number so you can get an exact date for the creation of this instrument along with all specifications. They have a special page that is current with serial numbers all the way up to 2004 I believe.
