Horrible breathing today. HELP!!

Post by Claiken »

I just ate a light snack before playing today, my breathing feels just horrible though. Im taking way more breaths today. today im practising, so its not so bad, but for my audition day...

what are your recommendations? When should I eat? how much? Is it possible for water intake to help at all? Anything im not thinking of? HELP! Its a week away!

Drinking plenty of water won't help your breathing, but it's a good idea to be sure your lips/throat don't get dried out. What you eat won't make much difference as long as you don't eat too much (or too little). Try to avoid any drastic changes in your eating, as they can be far more detrimental than any particular food.

You just need to relax. If you are thinking about your breathing you'll notice it.

You should always be thinking about your breathing to be sure you're taking breaths in acceptable places, and breathing correctly. If you just don't worry about it, the performance is likely to suffer.
