Need help, anybody. also bought an orpheus flute back in Nov 2006 and this is almost end of June 2007, believe it or not , I still have not received it. Williams email me back in Apr that he was still waiting for the factory to send the flute. It's been now 2 weeks that I've been trying to send him emails but he no longer has an email. I was following the forum in which 2 or 3 people were having the same problem but eventually got the flute; I thought the same thing was happening to me untill I'm no longer able to send emails to Mr williams and I don't have a telephone Number to reach him. I thought maybe someone out there can help in getting his phone number for me.

I am still waiting for my Orpheus flute, too. I won it on eBay in November 2006. William has not responded to my multiple e-mails and calls. I even sent a letter to his address (from http://www.harpsong.org/teachers.html#DC ), but still haven't heard back. The last time I heard from him was in March.
My next step is to take legal action.
If I knew the trouble that this would be, I never would have bothered!

I hope you all who have dealt with this individual through Ebay have at least put in a negative feedback comment on your ordeal so no one else has to go through this again.
I hate to tell you this, but it will probably be quite difficult to successfully litigate a claim against this guy. More than likely your money (if you've paid any) will not be recovered and you'll just have to wait until this dude takes his sweet time doing the type of crappy business it looks as though he practices and sends you a flute. If I were you, I'd look at Ebay remedies first if they are available.
I'm certainly not glad this is happening to you all and am very sorry for you, but I appreciate your willingness to open up about it on a public forum so that the rest of us won't get burned the same way.

eBay has a 90 day limitation on feedback and disputes. But at that point, I was not worried however since for others it took 10-12 weeks for the flute to arrive. By the time I got worried, it was too late to leave feedback or to manage the dispute through eBay or PayPal, for that matter.
It seems like everyone who ordered a flute before November 2006 received it, but those who ordered after that haven't.
Luckily, this seller (grenadillapic) is no longer selling these flutes on eBay, so no one else will have to go through this.

I'd try to make a complaint anyway because it would seem to me that the 90 days would not begin running until you've been provided a product. Otherwise, there would be no way at all to report a sorry seller who takes the money and runs. Since you haven't been given anything yet, your complaint is still alive.
The other thing you might do is contact your local U.S. attorney. Generally, using the internet to commit a fraud (or any other type of offense) is a federal crime. Perhaps if this seller gets a phone call from an investigator or prosecutor he will be urged to do something to make this right for you all. I'm not saying a crime was necessarily committed, but taking money for something you don't have or can't get might be considered fraudulent.

I Send a certified mail/return receipt on 08/20/2007, it arrived on 08/22/07 to ashburn, VA and was unclaimed on 09/08/07. I'm still waiting for the return letter. I called today # 703-999-5328, recorder came on, left a message to see if I get a reply and on #703-726-6948 a lady answer, I asked for William Marlowe, she said I had the wrong #. I hope I'm wrong but I think Mr marlowe has dissappear. what's your guess?

Unfortunately, I think you are probably correct.eli wrote:I hope I'm wrong but I think Mr marlowe has dissappear. what's your guess?
What a complete louse of a salesperson. Sounds like a possible fraud may be afoot. You might consider contacting the FTC, US attorney in your area, and/or your state Attorney General's office. The latter often have consumer fraud units that might be willing to help out.
Good luck.

I don't know what to say except that I'm really sorry you never received the instrument. I recall from an email correspondence back in December that he was in the hospital for a while.
He played with the Washington DC. orchestra, if I am not mistaken. Is there any way to get information from them?
It just seems out of character that he would be a fraud. when I ordered from him he was always very prompt and cordial. The delay in my instrument had nothing to dowith him, but rather China's super slow and inconsistent shipping. I'm not defending his actions, but I do wonder if something out of his control happened.

Perhaps. But not informing these customers of that is absolutely inexcusable. That's what makes it look like such a shady deal. Honest professionals don't drop off the face of the earth when a problem develops; instead, they let their customers know what they are doing to do to make the situation right.
Unfortunately, I think these people have been had.

Orpheus SILVER Flutes
Has anyone had any experiences with the Orpheus Sterling Silver flutes? I have read through many many posts on here but they mostly refer to the wooden flutes. I am looking to purchase one, but I am not looking for wood. I am unable to use wood in my college band. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Even though the topic here mostly relates to their Wood flutes, the problem lies with the distributor and the company; not the models that they have. I would not under any circumstances buy their flutes. Too many people have been burned by their scams.
Go somewhere reputable, and buy a really good flute that already has a repuation of quality.
