I'm so very sorry.

well... I would report it to those in charge so they can keep an eye out for it, but there really isnt much you can do but hope it is returned. If you had paid more for it [not meaning to sound rude, but this is the honest truth], then reporting the possible theft to the police/maker of the flute, might do some good. However, I doubt that anyone is going to spend a lot of time and effort [or $$$] looking for the flute, when you could spend the money used to look for it to simply replace it.

But, aside from that, I feel your pain. I thought I had almost lost my flute a couple of years ago. I was waiting for my bus, and somehow I lost track of it [even though I wore it with the shoulder strap :? ]. I ended up being lucky because the janitors at my school found it and turned it in to the band director. I was quite relieved.

So, as much as it hurts to have lost a dear friend, chances are, are that you will have to replace it.

But, who knows?! Maybe someone was playing a mean joke on you, and they merely hid it. Instruments dont go missing very often.

Best of luck!

Ahh! This reminds me of how my piccolo didn't show up after Marhcing Band Competition and I freaked that entire night and came back Monday to find out that it was sititng in the trailer...they couldn't see it in the dark, the case being so small, I guess....

I'm really sorry your flute has gone missing! I really hope you find it!
