My first flute was a student yamaha that was all plated. Several keys now have the plating bubbling/peeling.

I bought my EX on Fab 2007 , that's almost a year , and the silver looks like new and I play between 1 -3 hours daily and more so on weekends
Someone here mentioned that Muramatzu have their flutes plated in 2 layers . I do, however , always wipe the flute quite well after every practice session , IN fact this is a habit I carry from my previously owned bassoon , which I sold after playing on it for 18 years , The buyer thoughts I was selling a new instrument....
I think its really worth it spending another minute or so wiping up the instrument after practice.
