Jaw!!
I have tmj and have been playing for 10 years. There are some
simple excercises you can do to make it stop hurting. The first one and most
important is to make sure that your jaw opens correctly. Place your fingers on
each side of your jawbone. Slowly open your mouth. If you feel a click or bump
then it is not opening correctly. Usually you have to keep the jaw back longer
when it is opening. You can train your muscles to do this. Another important
thing to work on is releasing the tension in your mouth. This is best done with
long tones in front of the mirror. Make sure that your mouth looks as relaxed
while your playing as it does when you are not. I hope this helps. Jeni[:p]
