Flute headjoint inquiry

i have a 684 yamaha flute with an EC headjoint. a good flutist told me that my tone would improve if i buy a Yamaha AC headjoint... please help me out in my search for a better yet affordable headjoint.

This is the most rediculous thing I ever heard. A different headjoint may give you more control at best. This could be a good or a bad thing. If you have a good tone, you will have a good tone on any flute. If your tone needs improving, only practice will fix that.

Headjoints are made for the player, not the listener. If I were you, I would venture out and try every headjoint you can afford. Then, choose the one YOU like. One that will enhance YOUR plaing skils/ability.

Everyone plays very differently. A "good flutist" may have had that experience, but that does not mean you will have the same results. You are the only one who can make that decision.

I agree with Phineas. Practice would be a better investment than a headjoint if your tone is suffering.

Very brief Googling suggests between 500 to 600 for solid silver, 350 with solid silver head joint and plated body, 150 for plated.

I saw brief mention that they were made in Nogales. The flute version of the Mexiconn?
