Sheet Music Choice

Post by Peterjohn »

I have recently returned to the flute after 20 years. When I sold my flute, all those years ago, I also sold all of my music. As I now live in a fairly remote part of France, all I have to play from is a Langey Tutor and a practice exercise book. There is no nearby shop where I can 'browse' and so I need to order music online.
The problem is, I have no idea what to order. The only piece I have managed to find is Mozart Andante CMajor KV315 (which I'm sure you'll all be familiar with)
I know it is a very difficult question to answer, but, can anyone suggest about 6 pieces which I can have a go at?
They must be classical, fairly slow, very melodic (even morbid) and not too difficult. There must be some really well known regular pieces, but I just don't know them.
Promise I won't be upset if you get 'em wrong !!!!!!!
Thanks in anticipation

As nobody has replied to my question, even though it has had 167 views, I have decided to reply myself, but would love to know:-

a) Was it a very stupid question?

b) Was it really too difficult to answer?

or

c) Can nobody be bothered to help me?

I apologize for not replying, but it just seemed to me like doing a google or yahoo! search for "flute sheet music" would yield fairly good results. :/

Look at some Baroque stuff. You really can't go wrong with Handel, Telemann, or JS Bach.

A toute a l'heure!

8notes is free to download flute music from, not a fantastic range but you can search for other uploaded music also, might be a good starting place.
