Armstrong Sterling Silver Flute
I recently purchased an Armstrong flute at an estate sale. I used to play when I was younger, and am intending on getting it repadded and ready to play. I was just curious for any information I can get about this flute. The head piece is marked Sterling Silver, the body and end piece are not marked Sterling Silver, does this mean only the head piece is Sterling? Or am I to assume the entire flute is Sterling? Other than that, the only other wording on the flute is WT ARMSTRONG Elkhart, IND and has the number 100 above the numbers 33 17756. Can anyone tell me more about what these numbers mean or what model, what year made, or whether the entire flute is Sterling Silver or just parts of it? Thanks.

The top numbet (100) is the model number. The longer number is the serial number. Your flute was made in 1983 according to serial number the chart I have, though it has not been updated in quite a while. As far as I know, the 100 model has a silver head and plated body & foot.
