Is there a For Sale Forum on this board?
Hi, I'm interested in selling my flute, wondering if there is an appropriate forum on the FMB somewhere for that (couldn't seem to find one). Many thanks, as always.

You can place an add for free on
www.usedflutes.com
Beware of the massive amount of spam. I would only accept paypal for payment if you do this. It will protect you and your flute.

Hi Andy --
This particular message board, for as long as I've been around here, has generally frowned upon it being utilized as a sales outlet. I'm not exactly sure why, but the moderator of the site is perhaps the best one from whom to get a definitive answer. You might shoot a PM in that direction.
My guess is the answer is no. And the reason is probably that here we try to share experiences in the flute world, and communicate on issues pertaining to those experiences (the subtitle to this site is "a revolution in flute education"). If this board were opened to general sales, then we would likely be flooded by dozens of topic entries that eventually would swallow up the issue conversations we try to have here. Also, there are plenty of other online outlets for selling instruments.
Hope this helps. And good luck.

I'll be the wet blanket here and say that we probably should treat our fellow posters who ask serious questions better than this.
I'm certainly not opposed to humour, but -- to me at least -- being helpful to others on this board comes before drawing attention to our own brand of sarcasm. What may be "sarcasm" to one person, can be rude, offensive, and even hurtful to someone else.
This board, I always thought, had higher standards of conduct than this.
