Making a penny whistle

Post by jchannel »

I am looking to make a variety of whistles. I would like to make a set for my little girl. I have found instructions for low D but I would like to make more. Does anyone know where I can get the math or any information about making metal whistles? Any books, articles or straight up answers are welcome.

These links should get you started. Google "make tin whistle" or "homemade tin whistle" for others...

Thanks. I have the calculator but did not have the instructions, and that is going to be a great help. I have to admit, I did not understand much of the calculator. I can't wait to get working on this. I so much want to make a whole set, more than just a D. Thanks for your help and I still welcome any more information anyone may have. I am so new, I do not know what I am getting into just yet.
