What does "resistance" mean?

No, I've seen the engraving before. The ones I saw had cuts on top of the lipplate right on both sides of the opening. Almost looked like "wings" on the side, like the hole was flying .... wow, didn't know I could be poetic!

It looks neat, but I wondered if there was a reason for that cutting, if it does something to help with tone or somesuch.

Are you talking about the "Adler Wings" on Lafin HJs? or the wings on the Williams HJs?

Yes, that is what I saw! The headjoint that I saw had even bigger cuts on it than this one.

I actually tried a 14K Goosman headjoint during my search and found it to be 'weird'.

That's not the one I saw, but that is really neat looking. Why was it "weird"? What did it do or not do that you didn't like?
