I have a Gemeinhardt 2ESP and it has served me well. They are fine for beginners but i think that once you get to intermediate standard, a different brand would be a good idea. I am going to upgrade and I'll be looking at pearl, muramatsu, miyazawa, and yamaha. All you people who love your gemmies, have you tried other brands of flutes?
Music, life... Same thing
The Japanese made Yamahas are always better, but I would not say that the model you have is inferior. Yamaha is one of the few companies that have a pretty strict quality control policy no matter where their stuff is made. I have seen Yamaha stuff made in China that was on par.Dr. Doug wrote:I tried a Gemeinhart but wound up buying a Yamaha 481. Can anyaone tell me if a "made in Indonesia" Yamaha flute is an "inferior" flute than a Yamaha made in Japan. Unfoirtunately, I did not know my flute was made in Indonesia until I received it.
Thanks,
Dr. Doug
