Flutter Tonguing

Im having really trouble with this.

I can already roll my rrrrrs
but as soon i as i try to play and do it at the same time it just simply fails.
i also have to do it on a high E
and for the length of a semi breve !!

i need help... Any suggestions....its for the grade 7 struttit study piece by mike mower!!

Try blowing and rolling your R's with no flute.
When you can get that going, try and make your embouchure while you do it (still no flute).
Once you get that down, then add the flute!

i hope i get the hang of it pretty quickly, the exam is in a few weeks, so i better get practicing.

How do you mean "rrrrrrrs" ???? i'm self taught teaching myself and never come across this term before, just courious as to what you both mean.

I'm guessing the tu-ka or perhaps the hu hu warm breathing to give that effect <shrug>

When the OP typed "rrrrrrrr" they meant rolling their "R"s. Like in the Spanish language (or also in the more southern French dialects). It makes the tip of your tongue flutter against the foremost part of the roof of your mouth/just above the gum line of your front teeth.
