Is Donjon considered a contemporary composer?

Johann (Johannes?) Donjon? I don't think so. J. Donjon played with the Paris Symphony in the 1600-1700s. The works by J. Donjon are Baroque pieces.

hmmm?
in Nancy Toff's Flute Book, she shows Johannes Donjon as 1839 - 1912 in the Romantic period.

Some of his works are:
Adagio Nobile
8 Etudes de Salon
Invocation
Pan! Pastorale
Pipeaux Pastorale
etc

I might be wrong. I haven't played anything by Donjon in a LONG time.

Actually. I just did a quick google search. I was wrong. Sorry. I haven't played any of his pieces in at least 5-6 years, and when I was doing some research online about him, I couldn't find anything about him at that point in time. All I could find out was that he played for the Paris Symphony, and I guess I remembered the dates incorrectly.

Thanks!!!! I thought he was either Romantic or Contemporary; and his pieces FELT more Romantic to me, but I wanted to be sure what to "call" them. Appreciate the help!
