Kuhlau has a few really nice Fantasies that aren't played very often. I would look into one of them for sure.

On my senior recital I did something like that (along with a couple flute w/ piano pieces). I played the Bach Partita in a minor, Debussy Syrinx, Varese Density 21.5, and Berio Sequenza. Seemed to go smoothly, even though the majority is modern. I loved all the pieces.

I'm curious -- why only pieces for flute alone?

Another nice set to play are the Ferroud 3 pieces.

I am also always looking for solo flute pieces. I have most of the pieces you mention, and also a book called "Flute Classics" which has the most famous music. It also has a piano accompaniment, but I usually play the Solo part (a separate book).

Some of the pieces have been adapted though I think.
All in all, I found them pretty easy and rewarding at the same time. Some are a little bit TOO easy, but still nice.

See also "Piece", by J.Ibert. Really a "must play".

I still stick by my favorite flute solo, "The Carnival of Venice"

Try this:
http://adamscottneal.com/nympholepsy.pdf
This is a composer I went to school with. I thought this piece was pretty cool. If I remember right, he used the same compositional technique as the Berio Sequenza. I loved it and performed it many times. This would not be known! :)
Also, if you don't want to bother with a pianist, have you thought about any flute and tape/cd stuff? That would leave you with more modern choices, if you are into that...I personally love modern music. Oh, and to throw out something else, Telemann Fantasies. I don't think they are quite as played as the Bach Partita. (could be wrong, just seems like that with most of the stuff I have listened to)

I will check it out, thx arriana!
Telemann is in Vienna, where I am from, played very often, but I still like them, and probably will play 1-2 fantasies
