I am an amateur and bought a 2nd hand flute and have just had it completely repadded and a couple of springs replaced. The flute wasn't playing anything lower than a 'A' before the repadding because of the condition of the pads but now won't play lower than a 'F'.
Could someone help whether it could be flute itself or the pads not positioned properly?? Ijust don't want to look silly when I go back to the music shop where it was repaired.
Thanks for any advice.
Kathryn

If you paid for a complete repad, the shop should have returned it to you in playing condition - all the way down to low C. Take it back to the shop and explain the problem to them. There's nothing silly in asking that you get what you paid for.

When I last had my flute adjusted, the tech called me when it was done to tell me that he had play-tested it and that it was in much better working order than when I had brought it in. You should ask for the same service.
