I am looking at 2 alto flutes right now and wondered if anyone could lend a suggestion the first is Jupiter 517S and the second is an older Gemeindhardt made in 1970 with a solid silver head.
What do you think?

I have owned both of these and think there are advantages and disadvantages to both. The Gemeinhardt will most certainly be a more sturdy instrument, but intonation was an issue on mine, but I adjusted an it became my fav. The Jupiter had a great sound and nice intonation, but has issues with keys bending and that sort of crazy stuff. Fine for me, but not so great in the hands of my students.
