It doesn't change anything. A "colored" flute is most likely going to be one of the cheap imported instruments that will fall apart when you get it out of the box anyway. Don't get a colored flute unless you really just want one to mess around with.
My band director always told us to never buy the colored instruments if we want to play in band because most of these are plastic and are more like toys than actual instruments. Though it would be cool to have a purple flute.....
They're not plastic. They really ARE metal. I've seen a few of them. There was someone on here at one point in time that did play on a purple flute though...
I wish my flute was purple. Sorry about the plastic and metal mix up. Some girl at my school did bring a plastic one though and it wasn't worth anything. I do wish my flute was purple.....
I have had my share of colored flutes. At best, they were playable. However, most of those colored flutes will not stand up to average use. Whether you get a decent one or not is hit or miss at best.
