Jupiter piccolo?

Post by PiccoloShorty »

I recently posted a topic about getting a new piccolo. I am between getting a Gemeinhardt 4PSH and Jupiter 305S. The Gemeinhardt is a composite piccolo with a silver head joint. The Jupiter looks like a wooden piccolo but is actually made of the same plastic that the Gemeinhardt is made of but the head joint is also made of the plastic. Does anyone know which would be better?

From my experience, the Gemeinhardt is generally a better piccolo based on quality and intonation. I say generally because there are always exceptions. I recommend trying them both out and picking what you like, but I personally recommend the Gemeinhardt. Others I like: Emerson and Yamaha. Yamahas tend to be a bit more expensive, but Emersons are in around the same price range.
