Have you taken ABRSM (or similar) music exams?

Post by asoalin »

I thought I'd make this a new post, so people would see it rather than add it as a reply to my post about exams and grades (http://www.fluteland.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=4793).

I was just wondering, now that I know what the exams are all about, how many on here have taken any of the exams. You can share which grades you've passed if you want, but I don't know if everyone would want to share that. (I haven't done any, so no judgment here!)

Nope. Getting my BS in Music Ed was enough exams for me.

No, but I think it would be interesting to take it. I wonder if the tests are administered any where near Louisiana?

yes - I've taken several exams ... grades 3-7. Currently working towards my grade 8 exam!

Why? Well, when I fist picked up the flute that was what I considered my long term goal - my idea of "good enough"

I'm also someone that needs goals to work towards, and am no good at just doing something without a reason.

I saw a listing for Houston.
