umm, whats so interesting about a flute?

Im not trying to offend
anybody, but i was just wondering what so good about a flute? I''ve been
playing the flute since i was 6 and it''s really kinda boring to me... i
really pefer the clarinet or piano, but anywayz, i have to play the flute next
semester in school, can i have a little advice on how to make it fun, please?

You should get a great purple
flute like have, then it would not be so boring. Have fun with it. They are so
shiney I know how to play my scale so I am going to learn jazz, that will be
fun

i can't..

I already have
a silver flute, a silver and gold flute, and a silver and gold piccolo ect...
and also, my school will only let us play on silver or gold or both.

I know all of my scales, i
know how to triple tounge, and i know how to use my dynamics... i think it's
real boring to be in class always going over the basics... plus, i really dont
like the flute at all

i think it's a matter of
opinion, maybe you have just lost interest cause you have been playing for so
long... try and find sheet music that interests you, that could help

find really hard music that
you think you will never be able to play. make it challenging. im sure there are
things that you dont know how to do perfectly and you can perfect while having
fun. also, you could get some books from music stores with songs from your fav.
movie or shows.

I agree with falling4ever_3
and FluterJenn. I would suggest picking up a CD or some sheet music and
listening to some different players like Galway, Rampal or Julius Baker. You may
find a reason to enjoy flute and you may not. If you are being required or
someone else has chosen an instrument for you to play I understand completly why
you don't understand what is so interesting about it. Kim

well, i dont think i even look
right playing the flute... My band director is making me play flute and piccolo
next semester cuz the ones at school dont really know how to play it...... I
didnt wanna be in the band anyway, but my parents made me so now i have to deal
with it.... i guess im just out of luck though

WOW I wish there was an easy
answer to help you enjoy the flute. It is a shame that you are being forced to
play an any instrument that you don't want to play. Do you go to a Music School

no, I go to a college prep
school, and it cost $695 a month, but i have a music scholarship to go

If you don't like playing the
flute, you shouldn't do it. Your music teacher shouldn't have the right to
"make" you play the flute if you don't want to. If you're totally bored with
it, and just don't like it at all, it's probably just going to get worse, not
better. I don't have any advice other than to talk to your parents and/or the
music teacher to explain your dilemma. You're not getting a good education if
you hate it.

you should appologize to Makayla. Her parents are right some public schools
anywhere have a real deficit of good teachers. I do feel for you Makayla I dont
htink anybody should be forced to play anything they dont want to but thats the
ropes. Mozarts father was crticized for the same thing and look what happened to
him..........ahhh nevermind he died poor at 32. Anyway Bill
