My old portable/folding music stand is quite literally on it's last legs. I've decided that it's time to buy a new one and I'd like to get some recommendations. My criteria are:
folding
compact size when folded for carrying
lightweight
sturdy
w/carry bag
prefer black color
something better than the old wire styles
So, what brand/model do you use/like/recommend?

Re: Portable/Folding Music Stands
I have a Petersen Stand, it is made of thermo-plastic, has a solid desk,
and folds into the size of an Alto Flute Case (into which all the parts fit) ,
and has a case available too. Have used it for 10 years now with no problems.
Also should mention that the built-in extenders came in handy when I was playing a
windy outdoor wedding gig and could binder clip music to them.
Much more sturdy than a wire stand, and portable too.

Re: Portable/Folding Music Stands
I purchased the Nilton Magic music stand. It is black and has a wide desk, which folds in half for transport. There is a shelf for holding metronomes, recorders, etc., and houses the stand. You can purchase a seperate bag for it, but it is really not needed because it folds up nicely and has a rubber handel attached for carrying.

Re: Portable/Folding Music Stands
Got mine from Lidils here in the UK only £9.99 probably 15 - 20 USD ish but it does extend high which I like, recommended. Can't remember the make tho but it does a good job.Adjustable desk with music retainers for holding sheet music
With non-slip feet for extra stability and grip
Sheet rest can be tilted and swivelled 360°
Foldable for space-saving storage
Height-adjustable from approx. (cm): 69 - 160
Desk size approx. (cm): 24 x 47.5
Will buy another if or when they ever come up for sale again.
