FLUTE RAIN COVER

Post by TheSplash55 »

Hey guys, only new here but ive been in marching bands for years and if anyone else does theyll know how annoying it is if it rains on ur flute. Does anyone know where or what could be used as a rain cover. The idea of this came from the Edinburgh Tattoo once when i saw an american flautist using a rain cover! Any ideas??

it is possible to buy flutes that are waterproof… don't know specifics though. sorry. i only know that a shop called "flute tree" in sydney (australia) makes its own flutes (as well as selling high end flutes) called TWG (the woodwind group) and they also make plastic flutes are that waterproof and they are actually pretty good!

In my experience, I've found that for rain protection, the very best flute cover is a building. You can find them almost anyplace...

Unless your band director is willing to pay for the repairs for your flute, the best rain protection for any wind instrument is it's case. Most bands that I've either been involved in or had students in don't allow the woodwinds to go out during the rain.

But sorry, I've not heard of the rain cover.
