1954 Haynes solid silver flute value?
the 1954 haynes solid silver flute was purchased new by my father in 1954. can anyone tell me how to determine what this flute is worth? it was only used by my two sisters in high school and has been in its case for 35 years.

Haynes made a few different models in that era. Contact Haynes. They are usually very willing to help owners. http://www.wmshaynes.com/contact/contact.html
Give them the serial number and they can tell you when it was made and a range of value. Be aware though that if the flute has been sitting in it's case for 35 years, it's very likely to need a complete repad or overhaul. If your flute is a handmade pro flute, a quality repad could set you back $1000. Of course, after that it would be worth considerably more.
