Hello everyone, I am new to the flute and to wind instruments but really like the instrument
I am trying to get my embouchure down, but when I play my flute sounds very breezy, like I hear air passing through it and not all of the air is making sound. I have gotten to where I can get most notes to play, but the breezy sound persists. I am wondering if anyone might know what is causing this? Also I feel as if I am not using my breath efficiently when I play, as I run out of breath pretty quickly, which I think may be connected to things.
Thank you!

Re: Newbie question
Your problems of airy sound and running out of breath are both caused by your lip opening being too large. If you make the opening smaller, your sound will be more focused and your breath will last longer.
