I was onmusic2master.com and I saw special flute swabs
for crystal flutes. I've never heard of a crystal flute. Is is made out of
crystal or is it just clear or is it just a brand name or something? Is is like
a normal flute or is it for decoration? But I why would there be special rods
for crystal flutes and piccolos if it was for decoration? [:p]

I've seen crystal flutes. They are actually made out
of crystal. They are played like a recorder not to the side like a flute. The
ones I've seen are clear with decorations in the glass. I don't know about
cleaning them or special rods. But they are for playing not for decoration and
sound very nice.

How much is yours? Is it just something to play as a
side thing-do you have another flute that you serious play or is your crystal
flute it?

I want a crystal flute! They sound nice. I'm guessing
they're really expensive, though.

I have no experience with crystal flutes, but now I'm
curious. I've seen two types of crystal flutes on the net...one which is
basically a glass tube with an embouchure hole (no lip plate) and tones holes
(no keys) and another which looks like a regular flute with with lip plate,
silver keys and mechanisms, but the body is made of glass instead of silver.
Which type are you playing...and is it crystal or glass? The ones I saw were
made out of pyrex glass. If you're playing the one with no keys, just the open
tone holes, how different is the fingering from your regular flute? The pyrex
ones are not expensive, but I'm curious to know if that's that type you people
who play crystal flutes are playing. Or, are you playing the ones which are more
like a regular flute?
