pad problems!

Post by falling4ever_3 »

My pads are always sticky, I can clean them like a hundred times
with rolling papers, but that never works. My questions is, I''ve heard people
talking about using lotion on a q-tip to seal up pads, how do you do this? Or
there any other methods for sticky pads? My music store is all out of power
paper, so I just use cig. papers. I would appreicated any advice in this area,
thanks! - falling4ever3

pad problems!

I read about using lotion once but I don't know that I
would try it personally. It just seems a bit risky for me. My thought was that
it might be a temporary fix...but what would be the long term effects on your
pads ? I have also read about using lighter fluid but again I wasn't about to
try it. One thing that I have used is talcum powder on regular pad papers. I
just used a VERY small amount and then shook that paper off so there wasn't any
excess. Once again I don't know what the long term effects could be from doing
this but I figured at least it might be close to the powdered paper that you can
buy and we don't use this method very often. I guess what I would do is call
the tech at the place you bought the flute and ask them what they recommend.
