Muramatsu Model Question
I'm looking for information on the Muramatsu EXIII, serial 54xxx. I know it was manufactured in 2005, though Muramatsu US has no other info on this particular instrument; it is not stamped MA. Thanks
Re: Muramatsu Model Question
I suggest you write directly to Muramatsu Japan.
Re: Muramatsu Model Question
you can also contact Muramatsu America, MA seem to be able to track despite the geo separation

Re: Muramatsu Model Question
Does anyone know what is the model by Muramatsu which is seamed tube and made of brass ?
Re: Muramatsu Model Question

Re: Muramatsu Model Question
The Muramatsu EX (now the EX III) model has a plated body. The base material is likely nickel silver (German silver). AFAIK, no flute makers use bronze to make flute bodies. The GX, AD, and DS models all have sterling silver bodies.

Re: Muramatsu Model Question
No disrespect intended, but I would not consider saxontheweb.net to be an authoritative source of information about flutes.
(BTW - Sax was my first instrument and I also read saxontheweb.net)

Perhaps, but this thread and your original question was in reference to Muramatsu flutes.ongmy wrote:Actually I just found someone is selling it around 1000 usd and I am contacting that person by snail mail.

Regardless, none of the major, well respected flute makers produce flutes in bronze nor bronze plated. With their years of experience making quality flutes, that should be an indicator to you that bronze is not a desirable material for flutes.

Interesting. Fraser appears to be a small craftsman making a few headjoints, but that hardly makes him mainstream.ongmy wrote:http://www.topwind.com/magazin/magaf.htm see Jack Frazer about bronze flute.

John Coltman made a concrete flute to demonstrate that the material a flute is made from does not matter and has no impact on the sound. Still, I wouldn't want to play a concrete flute either...
