Muramatsu Model Question

I'm looking for information on the Muramatsu EXIII, serial 54xxx. I know it was manufactured in 2005, though Muramatsu US has no other info on this particular instrument; it is not stamped MA. Thanks

Sorry,I think it should be bronze(phosphor bronze?).Only Inderbinen made brass flute.

The Muramatsu EX (now the EX III) model has a plated body. The base material is likely nickel silver (German silver). AFAIK, no flute makers use bronze to make flute bodies. The GX, AD, and DS models all have sterling silver bodies.

Actually I just found someone is selling it around 1000 usd and I am contacting that person by snail mail.
As for phosphor bronze Crabb made headjoint with it .We can find flute in phosphor bronze by chinese maker.

Sorry,above chinese is just phosphor bronze plated .It is on sale in ebay now.

Perhaps, but this thread and your original question was in reference to Muramatsu flutes.

Regardless, none of the major, well respected flute makers produce flutes in bronze nor bronze plated. With their years of experience making quality flutes, that should be an indicator to you that bronze is not a desirable material for flutes.

Muramatsu makes GOLD flutes, not bronze.
Read their website. They make 9K, 14K, 18K, and 24K gold flutes.

Interesting. Fraser appears to be a small craftsman making a few headjoints, but that hardly makes him mainstream.

John Coltman made a concrete flute to demonstrate that the material a flute is made from does not matter and has no impact on the sound. Still, I wouldn't want to play a concrete flute either...
