As someone who has never played a wind instrument before (unless you include the recorder when I was in preschool), I'm interested in buying a custom-made, eight holed Native American flute, instead of the traditional five or six holed one.
My question is, would a flute with that many holes affect how you play the whole instrument, or could I have lessons for a five/six holed flute and just apply it to the one with a more wide range in pitch? I can't find any lessons for a NA flute with more than six holes.
Thanks!

Re: Native American Flute Question
Have you ever seen an 8 hole Native American flute? There might be good reason.
