Hi! I'm from the Philippines (this will be relevant, I promise) and I have just started to play the flute and I'm taking lessons online. I got my flute second hand, and I think it needs some repair (the F note won't sound and I think I see some rust under there).
But I'm new to this, and I don't really know anyone who can direct me to a flute specialist/repair shop here in the Philippines (specifically Manila).
Help?
Many thanks!

"The f note wont sound"
What about when you play E and D, do you get any sound or are they just as dead as F.
If E and D sound out, then odds are you simply have a small screw adjustment to carry out and you should be good to go again.

They're pretty much just air too. D:mirwa wrote:"The f note wont sound"

if they are airy or won't sound, then odds are there's few issues, was hoping it may just be a screw turn and your all up and going again.
Just as a last check, when you finger g, does g2 close as well (that is the other half of the g key), if you see it closes as well, then you will need to visit someone to get it repaired, if it doesn't close then it may still be just a screw adjustment

One other thing to check - Be sure that you are not pressing the G# lever with your left pinky finger when you try to play an F, E, or D.
"Never give a flute player a screwdriver."
