Neckpain. :-(
I have been praciticing severeal ours every day the last weeks. And now I have a severe pain in my neck on the left side. Anybody got any tips that dont include, "Stop playing for a week or three"?

Ultimately you're going to have to analyze your playing technique, posture, and any activities throughout your day that are causing fatigue and strain. Finding a teacher that specializes in Body Mapping or Alexander Technique would be a good idea, even if you only take a lesson or two. They don't even have to be flutists. They just need the knowledge of the techniques and the willingness to apply them to your needs.

I went through the same thing. I would advise you go to see a Doctor that deals with sports injuries. When I first started playing, I suffered from muscle swelling. After I got over that, the doctor gave me stretches, and weight training exercises. I still do them 20 years later!

I do these little exercises at the beginning of my practice session and at the end. If I go over one hour I do it also in the middle. It doesn't take much time, but I feel it helps!
