1) What trills could be affected by my Split-E Mechanism? I read in some reviews that the mechanism can sometimes make trills harder but have yet to find them - and are there any ways to make them easier again?
2) I recently had a spring replaced on my flute after it broke - "Just One of Those Things" apparently - but is there anything that could possibly have exacerbated this or things I should avoid to make sure it doesn't happen again in the future?
3) Does anyone have any reviews on the Di Zhao DZ-801 flute? This is my new Intermediate flute and I don't know very much about the make. It has a Split-E Mechanism, Solid Silver Tube, Plateau Keys and a C Foot. Just wondered whether there had been any previous complaints/good points.
4) Is it worth me either loaning out or selling my old Student level Trevor James TJ-10 model which is plateau keyed, C foot, silver plated? Or should I keep it as a spare? Thinking about keeping it or just lending it to a beginner trying the flute out but not sure.
I also wondered whether there were any actual merits to having plateau/french open keys? I have very small hands so was unable to play an open holed flute but is there actually any difference in quality or are they just an aesthetic addition?
Thanks
