Having read on this board a while back about pad paper for sticky pads, I went to the local music store to find some when my flute pads started sticking for the first time. There wasn't any in stock, but the owner showed me some "No Stick Pad Powder," which he said worked the same way as pad paper. I wanted to check with you experts first and make sure it is okay to use. I'm actually not really sure how exactly I am supposed to use it. Any advice or suggestions?
Thanks!
Missy

No Stick Pad Powder
Psalm 150:4... Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
I wonder if the person at the music store really knew anything about flutes or was just trying to sell a product?
I would be very skeptical about this... anything that's a powder I would not put anywhere near my flute. I can just envision a mess that could create... and I can see the powder getting lodged in the crevasses of the pads and all over the flute.. ick. Anyway, how would you use powder on flute pads? Sprinkle it on and shake it off?? lol
I think your best bet is to just go to a drug store where they sell cigarettes and look for or ask for cigarette papers.. usually any convenience store will have them. That's the easiest and cheapest thing to do. Just don't use the edge with the adhesive.
