Hi fellow flute & piccolo players, just signed up on here, & thought I'd post a bit about me as way of an intro.
I've had a Gemeinhardt flute for quite a few years, played it a bit many years ago, but put it away, & just got on with life.
But, on retiring in 2015, I decided it was time that I learned to play an instrument. First choice was harmonica, but just didn't 'get it', so tried ukulele, on which I began to progress quite well, nothing special, but could pick a tune or two. So I thought I'd have another go with harmonicas, This time around I 'got it', bought several, (chromatics, tremolos, & diatonic), & have been enjoying myself, & belong to a couple of forums.
Pulled out my old flute one day, & had a go, embouchure wasn't good, so looked for a forum & found Chiff & Fipple, been a member for a couple of years now. Whilst on the forum, I got interested in whistles, & bought some, (both low & high).
I'd always fancied having a go on a piccolo, & when one came up pre used at a seeming reasonable price, I jumped in & bought it, (a Yamaha) - & then became interested in the keyless (folk) flute & piccolo, which is where I'm at just now.
So, whilst I'm not intending to be a concert flautist, I'm here to enjoy some banter about flutes & piccolos, & play a few tunes for my own pleasure.

Welcome to Fluteland. You will find a number of others relatively new to the flute plus a number of experienced flutists. A few pros sometimes visit too. We look forward to your discussions
