Hey all,
Morne here.
Some might remember me from a while back. I joined up while I was living in Korea. I am back in Cape Town now (been a year already) and I am thinking I should get back into flute. I now have the chance to get a diploma (I couldn't in Korea) and I can get back into practice.
Any tips on what to do or what to play? I took lessons on and off during my time in Korea and the teacher there gave me Kohler etudes and Moyse.
Thanks all

You may like to start with Jennifer Cluff's great website on http://www.jennifercluff.com/ with lots of tips on playing the flute (and even on how to select a flute).

@ Fluitekruid: Thanks for the link. WIll check out that site.
@Classitar: Thanks, will do! So far I have found a teacher. I just need to find a place to practice without disturbing too many people, lol.

Re: Re-introduction
Hi Classitar,
So... it's been a while and now... 2020. I last posted in 2017. So much has happened in the interim, including covid which has brought the world to a stop.
I never actually got to flute lessons after all I keep doubting myself. Lately though, I was asked to join an international orchestra recording for our church and I pulled out the flute and played. I had so much fun. I want to get back into it. Just need to find a starting point and then practise so it doesn't disturb neighbours.
Fingers crossed I stick to it this time
take care

Hi Morne,
I'm glad you're having some fun with the orchestra.
It's a treat to play with other musicians.
Don't beat yourself up for the past, for us amateurs its about enjoying it and providing enjoyable performances when we get the chance
When will you be recording with the orchestra?
Does the group have plans to release the recording?
