Info help with recently acquired Armstrong

Post by NBrucker »

Hello! New to the forum (and to flute-playing, to be honest...Musician for decades; flute is going to be my "instrument of my 50s" :D )

I was recently gifted an old Armstrong student 104 G7005 flute from a friend that, other than needing a repad, was in pretty good shape considering it had never been serviced since she was in high school in the 70s. Just had it fully refurbished at my local instrument repair store. Just looking for information on age, materials, etc. Searched the forum and found the chart of Armstrong serial numbers posted here before - From what I can tell from these it would fall under the "A,B,C (Omitting H etc)" category and manufactured in 1965? Does this seem correct? Any insight into the materials used in the flutes during that time? No other informational markings other than the Armstrong, logo, and serial number stamp on the flute.

Thanks in advance!
